For marketplace sellers and online stores

Running a store: what eats your time and what AI actually takes over

Every seller has the same three chores: creating product listings, answering reviews, and understanding what is happening with the money. All three are about volume rather than difficulty — which is exactly why they automate well.

1. Product listings

A listing written by hand takes 15–25 minutes: title, description, attributes, keywords. On a 300-item catalogue that is more than a full working week. A pipeline builds the listing from a supplier line and photos in seconds, in one store voice, and without copying anyone else's text — marketplaces penalise duplicates.

Do the math: items × minutes per listing ÷ 60 = hours. 300 × 20 ÷ 60 = 100 hours. Even if the pipeline does 80 % and a human edits the rest, you get back about two working weeks.

2. Review replies

An unanswered review reads as "the seller does not care", and a bad review without a fast reply costs you ranking. Automation replies within the hour in your tone and escalates complaints to the owner's messenger — so the fire is put out while it is still a spark.

3. A morning report instead of manual exports

Yesterday's sales, stock levels, what is running out, what is stuck — the summary arrives with your coffee. The value is not a prettier table: it is making the decision a day earlier.

4. Pre-purchase questions

"Will this size fit", "is it in stock", "when will it ship" — routine questions eat the day and decide conversion. A bot answers from your data and hands over anything it does not know.

5. Content for traffic

Short videos per product are the cheapest traffic available right now. They can be produced by pipeline: script, voice, footage, edit — with no filming. Samples and pricing.

What AI will NOT do

It will not pick your products or fix your purchase price: if the unit economics do not work, automation only accelerates the loss. It will not replace photography — no text saves bad images. And it does not vouch for facts: attributes come from your data, never invented, or the marketplace will penalise you for misleading listings.

Where to start

If this hurts mostStart withTime
the catalogue takes months to loadlistings from supplier data1 week
reviews go unansweredreplies + complaint escalation1 week
numbers visible once a monthmorning report1 week
no trafficper-product videos2 weeks

Measure "before": minutes per listing, hours to first reply on a review. After delivery the same two numbers show the result with nothing left to argue about.
